Encompass has various built-in features to simplify and expedite your use of the software. Learning and understanding every aspect of Encompass requires training and practice, so we have compiled this list of features and tips that you may have overlooked while learning the basic operation of the software. You can populate the information on your File Contacts screen with a click of the mouse?
Any Business Contacts that you have added in the Contact Manager are considered to be part of your Rolodex. To access your Rolodex anywhere in your loan file, simply right click your mouse in the blank field where you'd like to add information! If you are using contacts that are not yet entered into your Business Contacts, you can add them to your Rolodex by right clicking in the box where the name of the company/person appears. (Please note that it may take a few seconds for the Rolodex to appear after you right click in the box).
You can add your borrower and co-borrower to the contact manager with the touch of a button ?
Just above the borrower’s name and contact information on the first page of the Borrowers Summary is a button labeled “Update Contacts.” By clicking this, you can automatically add your borrower and co-borrower to the Contact Manager in Borrower Contacts. Once you have successfully closed their loan, remember to change their current address to the subject property’s address and simply click “Update Contacts” again to update the information in the Contact Manager.
You never have to enter a city and state in Encompass?
Encompass contains a built-in zip code database. Simply by adding a zip code anywhere that you need to enter an address, the city and state will automatically fill in for you! Sometimes, a zip code can be associated with multiple townships. In the rare instances in which Encompass generates a different city/township than you'd like, simply type over the city name that Encompass generates. If you are unsure of the zip code for a specific address, the Postal Service has an easy-to-use site to find zip codes.
You can change the list of forms that displays beneath the Forms tab when you open a loan?
When you first open up a loan file, the Forms, Tools, and Services tab are displayed on the left-hand side. If you click the Forms tab, a default list of forms displays based on the input forms that Ellie Mae feels its customer most need access to; however, what the software creators think you most need may not be what you actually need! We have created some lists that can be applied by going to “Templates” on the menu list on the top of the screen and choosing “Select Form List.” If you’d like to create your own list, let us know, and we can help you create one!
